About Carrie

My husband, Jonathan, and I have lived in Concord for nearly nine years. We have three kids: Cooper, Leah, and Micaela. We moved here not knowing anyone and we feel so lucky to have landed in such a wonderful community. I’m excited to have this opportunity to give back to the place we call home.

Over the last 20 years, I have had the privilege of working for some of the Commonwealth’s and nation’s top leaders. Most recently I served as Congressman Seth Moulton's chief of staff. Prior, I worked in senior roles for Teach For America, John Kerry for President, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. I learned the importance of public service, the power of good leadership and the critical role an education plays in developing tomorrow’s leaders.

I have spent my career working in government, and believe strongly in the importance of public service, but running for office is not something I ever imagined doing. That said, becoming a parent changes you. And being a parent during a pandemic really changes you. The School Committee is a place where I believe I can have a positive impact on our community.

The issues that School Committees nationwide face are some of the toughest issues of our time. Public health, mental health, racial equity and civil rights – these are all issues to which there are no perfect solutions, but require thoughtful leaders to address. I would be honored to help our community navigate this moment in time with a listening ear, from a woman and a parent’s perspective and in collaboration with my colleagues and with you all. It won’t be easy, but here is what I will commit to you:

  • I will always advocate for student learning and wellbeing. And when it comes to public health, I will always follow science.

  • I will operate with transparency, and will always be willing to listen. We might not always agree, but you’ll always know where I stand and have an opportunity to share your perspective.

  • I believe this is a diverse world, and will work to foster an environment where all children and families feel, and truly are, welcome.

  • I recognize that the School Committee’s actions impact the entire community, not just families, and will work to ensure Concord is a wonderful place for both.
